Last night while my husband and his buddy were out to dinner they got to talking with a couple at the next table and somehow - ( I call it Linus Angel's) Project Linus came into the conversation. My husband said the his wife was the Coordinator of our area. The gentleman said that he works for an Agency that receives blankets from Project Linus and what a positive impact the blankets have on the kids. He said that often times the kids only sleep on a mattress with no box springs and that these blankets are sometimes the first blanket that the kids have ever owned.
I write this message in awe, because so often when we deliver blankets it is dropping bags off at a front desk, or Nurse's station, or a slightly open door at a Shelter. So hearing that a child who has received a blanket is truly comforted, just warms my heart.
I also am writing this post not just to say " hey we need more blankets" ,but of course we always do. But to show how APPRECIATED our BLANKETS are to the CHILDREN that receive them.
THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF NWPA PROJECT LINUS.........

Well I guess the challenge is on now that
Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow and

just how many wonderful blankets can be

February News Letter , 2015
Hello Blanketeers,
The Ground Hog may see his
shadow on the 2nd and bring us another 6 weeks of winter and if he
does, then I guess we can stay inside and make some more blankets. Not entirely
a bad thing. Especially as we are looking forward to a wonderful National Make a Blanket Day on
the 21st. Here is a list of the Quilt Shoppes that are participating
in this year’s event.

With all of the fun events that are coming up this
year many of you Blanketeers have responded to my request of assistance in
cutting the several bolts of muslin needed to be prepared for those events.
Still more help is needed and as I have the muslin ready, I will let you ladies
know. Thank you so very much.
In the event of severe weather please go to our
blogspot and face book page listed below to see if our meeting may be
cancelled. That way we are not interfering with the Quilt Shoppes daily business
by calling them.
