August Newsletter
August , 2018
Hello Blanketeers,
There is a lot of wonderful
things happening and upcoming events right now for NWPA Project Linus, so this
newsletter may be a longer than usual, but I want to keep everyone as informed
as possible. So here it goes:
Wednesday July 25th:
Senior Day at the Erie
Zoo. 10:00-2:00

NWPA Project Linus will be participating
in its 5th Erie Gives on
Tuesday August 14th from 8:00am – 8:00pm www.Eriegives.org
we qualify as a 501(c)(3) non profit
and are registered for this ON-LINE
event. Last year we raised $1,050.03, it would be awesome if we could reach the
$1,500.00 mark this year.
When you click onto the www.Eriegives.org site type in NWPA
Project Linus
We would ask that if you give
to a charity throughout the year that you would consider donating to NWPA
Project Linus on that day. Last year on
this one day of fund raising over 4.4 million dollars were raised here in Erie.
That is an incredible amount and we live in a very generous Community.
Your donation to NWPA Project
Linus would help us to purchase blanket making materials , such as batting,
flannel and cotton material to help us meet the growing need in our Community
of children in need.

Join us for an
hour or two of fun at our booth in the “Kids Zone” newly located in Perry
Square on the west side( this
is new this year The Kids Zone has been moved). We have a very large
tent provided by the city that protects us from the elements. There needs to be
someone from our Organization at the booth at
all times. The City does provide some volunteers that are wonderful
helpers that are there for a few hours at a time. So if you stop down, it
would allow us to take a restroom or meal break .
-
Children and
Adults sit down and color all of those muslin squares that we have been tracing
all winter long. Many families come back year after year and enjoy coloring the
squares.

We were contacted by
Boscov’s, the new Department Store that is having a “ Friends Helping Friends”
event at the Millcreek Mall on Tuesday October 16th ,8:00am – 11:00
pm. This event is to assist area nonprofits. Tickets are $.5.00 and the entire
amount will stay with each nonprofit. I will have tickets at our monthly
meetings, or you can contact me at 814-864-389 or 814-392-5583 or email – nwpaprojectlinus@hotmail.com.
